JAMIE DUNN

Jamie Dunn is without a doubt Queensland’s most well-rounded performer. Now the Sunshine Coast local has finally buried his feet firmly in the sand personally and professionally with his new role in the Zinc Morning Zoo.

The man once described as ‘The ugliest solo professional performer in Australia today’ has muscled his way to the cutting edge of TV, Radio and Stage with an amazing flair for consistency, creativity and relentless self-preservation.

For two decades Jamie has been the voice and personality of Australian Televisions’ most successful childrens’ character Agro, winning 10 TV Week Logie awards.

For the last 15 years, he’s been the comedy mouthpiece of the number one radio breakfast show in Brisbane.

But the big man is not just a big mouth: He has big brain to match

Jamie’s early performing days were spent as a highly successful singer song-writer.

His formative years were spent in Australia and the United States, honing musical skills that were to become invaluable to his commercial pop music career.

As a performer of immense self-focus, it should be no surprise to learn that Jamie’s only number-one hit success came with writing a song about himself: Jamie come home.

When you see Jamie performing it’s not hard to argue that, when it comes to comedy, size does matter.

IAN CALDER

Ian Calder has been working professionally in the Australian Entertainment Industry for over 30 years….surprisingly for the interest and enjoyment and not for the tax breaks.

In that time he’s carved out a career in theatre, performed in bands, worked as a scriptwriter in Television and Film, established himself as a successful commercial voice-over artist and, perhaps most famously, appeared as professional fool ‘Crikey the Clown’ on the multiple Logie-winning morning kids show ‘Agro’s Cartoon Connection’.

It was on ‘Cartoon Connection’ that Ian began his professional collaboration with the show’s head-ego, Jamie Dunn. They began writing and performing comedy together and quickly agreed that as long as Ian did the work and Jamie took the credit, the partnership had a great future.

Ian then moved into radio where, for 16 years he supplied comedy characters and voices for Australia’s longest running and most successful capital city radio breakfast shows, ’Jamie Dunn and the B105 Morning Crew’.

Now Ian’s proud to bring this same level of discipline, professionalism and arsey luck to the Zinc Morning Zoo.

COURTNEY BURNS

Courtney Janette Burns was born a tiny 6 pound 9 with a mop of jet-black hair at
Nambour Hospital.

Since then two major things have changed. She is no longer considered a small person, and no longer have jet-black hair- Grey, much to her mums disgust.
Courtney’s love of radio started in year 1, when apparently, after an excursion to 4SS she told her mum that’s what she wanted to do!
Skip a few years and here she is!

How did she get here… Courtney started pestering Pete and Caroline when she was in year 10, who crumbled, and let her help out around the place.
On her 17th birthday, not only did she get her licence, but a full time position driving the cruiser for Mix FM.

During her time there, she ran promotions, finished school, and completed a Communications degree at the Sunny Coast Uni.
Matured, and Graduated, well Graduated at least… Courtney headed to Longreach.
She was with 4LG and West FM for about a year, where she was an all rounder- announcer, news, production, footy calling… Courtney did it all, and loved every minute.

Next was a family calling. She spent a year and a bit Managing the Palace Backpackers in Childers, babysitting up to 120 kids of all ages. Courtney now has plenty of experience as a mum, cleaning, cooking (yes, cooking for them all), getting them up and to work on time… everything!
Finally, from Chiders back to the Sunny Coast. Zinc general manager, Mark Spurgen gave her a call, and SNAPPED Courtney up, to do what she is good at, a bit of everything- so here she is.

With a grandfather that developed Kawana, and a dad building here since the 70’s, we reckon she’s a Coastie through and through. She certainly has some stories, just ask her!
