We the undersigned petition the Sunshine Coast Regional Council for its ongoing support and financial commitment to the Caloundra Music Festival. While Caloundra City Council has pledged its support for the 2008 Festival we believe it is important that this support is ongoing in 2009 and beyond to allow the Festival to reach its potential.

In its first year the Caloundra Music Festival proved itself to be a fun family friendly event with broad appeal for the whole community. It has demonstrated the potential to develop into a world class iconic event for the Sunshine Coast with social, economic and cultural benefits to the local community. The continued growth of this event will see millions of dollars flow into the local economy.

An event like the Caloundra Music Festival drives tourism growth, develops destination branding for a unique part of the Sunshine Coast and provides cultural opportunities for the community. It also allows locals and visitors to celebrate our beautiful environment. With ongoing support from the Council and the community, the Caloundra Music Festival will provide ongoing benefits to Caloundra and the greater Sunshine Coast for many years to come.
